Cristiano Ronaldo brace sees Real Madrid man break his own Champions League record

The Portuguese superstar netted twice in the second half as his Real Madrid side cruised to a 6-0 win in Cyprus.

Despite his poor form in La Liga, Ronaldo has been on fire in this season's Champions League.

His double last night means he now has eight goals in five group games this term.

And Ronaldo has now broken his own record of Champions League goals scored in a calendar year.

The 32-year-old set the record back in 2015 when he scored 16 goals in the competition.

But after netting 10 in the knockout stages last season, he now has 18 European goals in 2017.

And the former Manchester United man will no doubt enjoy the fact he has got the better of his opposite number Lionel Messi once again.

The Barcelona star's personal best is 13, a record he has posted twice in 2016 and 2012.

To add, Ronaldo has also moved one ahead of Messi in the race to score 100 goals in the Champions League for the same club side.
