Liverpool news: Frank Lampard makes bold Premier League and Champions League claim

Liverpool threw away a three-goal lead away to Sevilla last night in the Champions League and clung on for a 3-3 draw which served to underline their flaws.
A double from Roberto Firmino and a Sadio Mane strike in the first half looked to have been more than enough for the win, but their back-line caved in once again.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have conceded 28 goals in 20 matches in all competitions this term.
They have conceded three or more on at least four occasions.
Dejan Lovren has borne the brunt for much of the criticism this term and he played the full 90 minutes against Sevilla.
Prior to their trip to Spain, the Anfield outfit had kept three clean sheets in their past four matches.
And Lampard thinks unless there is a solution to their defensive woes, they can forget about lifting any major trophies anytime soon.
“It is a collective thing and it’s not just Moreno,” Lampard told BT Sport.

Roberto Firmino looked to have set Liverpool on their way to victory
“Unless you deal with the issue and bring in a leader or a top defender or two, they can win games and beat anyone.
“But to sustain it and win the Champions League or Premier League will be very difficult.”
Liverpool, who are fifth in the league, host Chelsea next on Saturday (5.30pm).
