Predicted 4-2-1-3 Real Madrid Lineup To Face APOEL: Ronaldo To Partner Benzema In Attack

After an enticing clash with fierce rivals Atletico Madrid, which ended in a draw on the weekend, European Champions Real Madrid will return to action this midweek. The Spanish giants will be desperate to get back to winning ways, following a dismal start to the campaign. Furthermore, Zinedine Zidane’s men will look to pip Tottenham Hotspur for the top spot in the table and a win against APOEL could prove to be very handy, given the fact that Spurs play away to Dortmund on the same night.

The visiting Real Madrid side have a few injury issues leading up to the game, but the Spanish outfit is highly expected to clinch this tie quite easily.
Here’s the predicted Real Madrid lineup to face APOEL this midweek.
Defence
First choice goalkeeper Keylor Navas is currently out with a tear in the abductor muscle. Therefore, Real Madrid’s number two, Kiko Casilla will stand in between the sticks against the Cypriot outfit.
Club captain Sergio Ramos suffered a fatal nosebleed during their clash against Atletico on the weekend.
The Spanish International will miss the tie, thus, paving way for Nacho Fernandez, who will partner Rafael Varane in central defence.
Danny Carvajal could be given a breather, which could open the door for youngster Achraf Hakimi to start another game for Los Blancos. He will play on the right while Marcelo will start from the left back position.
Midfield
Real Madrid’s midfield is expected to remain unchanged from their weekend clash against Atletico Madrid. Casemiro will sit as the cover for Madrid’s defensive line. The Brazilian’s defensive approach and his ability to break up play will be crucial in shutting down APOEL’s attacking stances.
Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, meanwhile, will play in a slightly advanced midfield positions. Both the midfielders have been criticized for their underwhelming performances in recent weeks, so they will be desperate for a good performance this midweek.
Attack
Real Madrid will miss the services of star winger Gareth Bale, who also suffers from an abductor injury. Star playmaker Isco could also be given a rest, paving the way for youngster Marco Asensio to start as the central attacking midfielder.
The Madrid attack, on the other hand, will be lead by the attacking duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo, despite his awful form in the league, has already scored six goals in four Champions League games. He will be eager to extend his tally this midweek.
